Turnkey IPC solutions as Full-Service

Bressner Technology explains how to avoid technical issues when assembling industrial 19-inch server PCs and the value-added services you can benefit from.
Cause and Resolution of Common Compatibility Issues
When assembling complete systems, there are various factors to consider, starting with the correct size of 19-inch industrial PC enclosures. Not only the correct rack unit (RU), but also the depth of the devices must be measured to fit the respective server cabinet. Models with depths of 430 or 482 millimeters and with 1U, 2U, or 4U are standard here. If the 19-inch servers are too long, they may not fit in the cabinet or the rear cabling may become jammed during installation. Another issue can arise from the enclosures of fanless servers. Despite heat sinks, the generated heat can lead to overheating of the devices. Therefore, we recommend installing them in ventilated enclosures.
The most common cause of compatibility issues in hardware is that the model generation of the individual components does not match the version of the chipset or socket. For example, an Intel® 9th generation processor will not work on an 8th Gen chipset, and PCIe-based expansion cards (e.g., sound cards) may sometimes not be recognized by the motherboard. "While such issues can be resolved through a BIOS update," explains Gabor Paxian, Senior Account Manager for Industrial PCs at Bressner Technology, "not all hardware manufacturers offer this option, so customers should pay attention to ensuring that the CPU generation matches that of the chipset. The correct version is usually indicated on the motherboard itself."
Basic Configurations with Custom Hardware Adjustments
Since the sixth generation of Intel® processor architectures, DDR4 has been the standard memory in industrial computers. However, some customers and system integrators are not aware that a DDR4 RAM module physically does not fit into a DDR3 socket. The same applies to earlier versions, as each generation has a dedicated slot.
To avoid such errors for 19-inch industrial PCs, BRESSNER Technology offers various value-added services for buyers and IT engineers. These include not only the available basic configurations (see table) but also tailor-made hardware to offer customers individual solutions "turnkey." As a full-service provider, we undergo a seamless manufacturing chain, ranging from expert consultation, planning, and conception to customization, quality control, and technical post-sales support.
