The MAGMA ExpressBox 16 Basic is an affordable and extremely fast solution to add more PCIe slots to your server, workstation or systems. MAGMA’s ExpressBox 16 consists of a bundle of interface cards (x8 or x16), an iPass cable and a 4U rack chassis. The chassis is automatically configured by the BIOS, which displays the slots on the host computer. In addition, the PCIe expansion offers high bandwidth. The ExpressBox 16 can be easily put into operation via “plug and play”. It also supports peer-to-peer transfers between cards in the expansion chassis to provide the full bandwidth potential among I/O cards. LEDs on the backplane indicate active connections, speed (Gen 1 or Gen 2), partial or full lane training. Four dedicated cooling fans with thermistor-controlled fan speeds help reduce unnecessary noise. The box also features additional power options with auxiliary power connectors to support graphics cards that require more than 75 watts of power.

The ExpressBox 16 Basic is available in two variants:

ExpressBox 16 – (16) x4 PCIe Slots: (MAGMA Part No.: EB16-BX4)

This variant of the ExpressBox 16 has a total of 16 x4 PCIe slots and one slot dedicated for a host link card.

ExpressBox 16 – (14) x8 & (2) x16 PCIe slots: (MAGMA Part No.: EB16-BX8)

In this version the ExpressBox has 14 x8 PCIe slots, 2 x16 PCIe slots and one slot dedicated for a host link card. In its different versions, the MAGMA ExpressBox 16 Basic is the affordable high-performance solution for applications such as industrial automation and control, telecommunication, military, applications, data acquisition, measurement, medical and many more.
