PCIe x8 Gen3 Embedded – Cable Adapter (OSS-PCIe-ECA-X8-G3)
The PCIe x8 Gen3 Embedded is a space-saving cable adapter which supports PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 add-in cards. The cable adapter extends the PCIe bus from a PCIe x8 cable connector to a x16 connector, using a PCIe x8 Gen3 bandwidth of 64 Gbps. An ATX power connector provides the necessary power to the edge connector for the add-in board.
About PCI Express Interfaces
PCIe (PCI Express) is a high-speed internal interface that can be used to connect multiple servers and boards to a telecommunications server or to a computer system. The transmission technology is based on two differential pairs of lines, known as links or lanes, one of which is used to send data and the other to receive it. A total of up to 48 of these links can be bundled together to increase speed as much as possible. PCI Express offers significantly higher performance than Ethernet or USB and is ideal for time-critical applications that rely on high-speed I/O.
