Easily add additional serial ports to your system. The SYSBAS Multi-1/LPCI RS232 features SystemBase’s high-performance semiconductor – SB16C1052PCI – to deliver maximum performance up to 921.6Kbps with the world-leading 256-byte FIFO that prevents overflow errors. Combine that with the need for fewer components and you get cost-effective and reliable connections to your serial devices.
The multiport cards support most Windows and Linux operating systems and feature 15,000-volt surge protection to prevent blown ports. The Multi-1/LPCI has an on-board DB9 connector and is available in two models, RS232 and RS422/RS485 (COMBO). These cards are ideal for POS, hospitality, factory and building automation applications.
Powering the port
The Multi-1/LPCI can be configured to supply +5 or +12 volts to pin 9 to power external devices. This functionality is ideal for connecting low-power devices such as barcode readers and receipt printers, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
What is Auto Toggling?
The Multi-1/LPCI has a built-in hardware feature that performs automatic toggling to prevent devices from sending data at the same time. This operation is important when multiple devices are connected to avoid electrical collisions that cause errors and unstable communication.
